St. John’s Fellowship
"A community of 52 households anchored in prayer, Bible study, and mutual support."
Formation & Geography
St John’s Fellowship was established in 2002 under Rev. Enock Nandokha. Following a 2003 reorganization, it transitioned from the Mlimani Estate Fellowship to its current identity, empowered with parish lay leaders and dedicated prayer books.
Our primary catchment areas include Mashambani Estate, Medical Quarters, GK Prisons, and Sinoko. We also celebrate members who remain connected from Kimukung’i, Siritanyi, and Khasoko.
Governance & Constitution
"Operating under a duly formulated constitution, we conduct worship services through village-based meetings, providing spiritual mentorship under the Fellowship Teacher and Chairperson."
Membership Profile
Pastoral Care Structure
To enhance spiritual growth and mutual support, members are organized into five (5) cell groups. These groups host mid-week home meetings for Bible study and Christian discipleship.
Leadership & Accountability
Electoral Cycle
Officials are elected every two (2) years during the December AGM, typically held following the Feast of St. John.
Spiritual Induction
Newly elected leaders undergo formal induction by the Fellowship Reverend to equip them for spiritual and administrative service.
Achievements
Successfully established and operationalized all departments, mirroring the cathedral's structure to foster holistic spiritual growth and coordination.
Development Outlook
While no major infrastructure projects are currently active, we are exploring sustainable initiatives to enhance self-reliance and community support.
Strategic Challenges
-
Participation Gap
Ongoing efforts to re-engage inactive registered members in organized activities and village meetings.
-
High Member Mobility
Addressing the impact of work-related transfers and relocation of members after retirement.
